UNITED NATIONS, Mar 23, CMC -United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, Monday announced the appointment of Daniela Kroslak of Germany as his Assistant Secretary-General, Head of the newly established United Nations Support Office in Haiti (UNSOH).
She previously served as Chief of Staff in the United Nations Mission for Justice Support in Haiti (MINUJUSTH) and in various other senior position at United Nations Headquarters and with the UN in the field, including Sudan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda, as well as with International Crisis Group in Kenya.
The UN said that Kroslak, who holds a doctorate in International Politics and a bachelor’s degree in international history and international politics, brings to this position over 25 years of experience in political affairs, peace operations and mission leadership, including extensive service in fragile transition contexts.
“She has a distinguished record in strategic and organizational leadership, high level coordination, mediation, and human rights. Most recently Ms. Kroslak served as lead Facilitator of the Review of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) in 2025, and prior to that as the lead of the Independent Strategic and Civilian Staffing Review of the United Nations Office to the African Union (UNOAU) in 2024.”
The UN said also that Kroslak also served as the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Deputy Head of Mission in the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA), a role she held until the mission concluded its mandate in December 2023.
