Kenyan troops start Haiti withdraw as Gang Suppression Force deployment nears
After 21 months of struggling to help Haiti’s security forces reign in armed gangs, the international security mission led by Kenya is beginning to draw down, signaling the troubled Caribbean nation’s transition to a new phase of international intervention.
A group of 215 Kenyan police officers who formed the second contingent of the Multinational Security Support Mission arrived in Nairobi earlier this week, Kenya’s Ministry of Interior confirmed in a statement. Last Friday, a smaller contingent of troops from The Bahamas and Jamaica that made up the Caribbean component also departed Port-au-Prince.
“The mission has now entered a transition and drawdown phase that will see more officers gradually return home from their tour of duty,” the Kenyan interior ministry said in a statement.

Natif de La Roche-sur-Yon, le sélectionneur est revenu pour RMC Sport sur la construction de son groupe et notamment sur la question des binationaux avant la compétition estival où les Grenadiers défieront le Maroc, le Brésil et l'Ecosse.

An electoral calendar sets the first round of legislative and presidential elections for 20 August and a second round, if necessary, coupled with municipal elections on 6 December.
According to media reports, around 300 political parties or groups have registered to participate in the elections.
To meet these deadlines, progress is needed to stabilise the security environment and create conditions conducive to holding a fair vote.

20 août ? 6 décembre ?
S’agissant du calendrier électoral [prévisionnel], « il fixe le premier tour des élections législatives et présidentielles au 20 août, et un second tour, si nécessaire, couplé aux élections municipales, au 6 décembre ».
La communauté internationale constate en ce mois de mars, qu’Haïti « reste enlisé dans une crise multidimensionnelle, marquée par la faiblesse des institutions, l’incertitude politique, la violence généralisée des gangs et des besoins humanitaires écrasants ».
