Melchie Dumornay a toujours affiché un talent hors du commun. Repérée par Amandine Miquel, alors entraîneuse de Reims, lors de la Coupe du monde féminine U-20 2018, la jeune Haïtienne a officiellement rejoint le club français trois ans plus tard, à 18 ans. Après seulement quelques semaines, Miquel était convaincue : « Elle sera l’une des meilleures joueuses du monde dans les années à venir. » Les faits lui ont donné raison.

De nouveaux affrontements violents entre plusieurs gangs, dans la banlieue de la capitale haïtienne, ont fait au moins 78 morts et 66 blessés, entre le samedi 9 et le jeudi 14 mai 2026, selon un bilan provisoire communiqué par le Bureau des Nations unies en Haïti. 10 personnes tuées étaient "des membres de la population : 5 hommes, 4 femmes et une jeune fille, a précisé la Binuh.
